Ethnic Skin Care
African American SkinWhen addressing African-American Skin it requires special precautions. Because of higher melanin production in skin type Fitzpatric 4 and 6 ethnic skin is very prone to Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH). When treating wrinkles, pigment and acne scars with Chemical Peels or other exfoliants we make sure that products that we us will not trigger more melanin production. Before doing any type of exfoliations it is very important to pre-treat your skin at home with prescribed creams that will ensure healthy skin turnover and keep melanin under control. After 2 weeks we schedule your first procedure. Customized peels in our include Vitalize Peel, Vi Peel o PCA Peel. Depending on your skin condition and what is your goal we recommend to do 2-3 treatments for optimal results.
Hispanic SkinHispanic skin often is affected with a condition called Melasma (hormon related hyperpigmentation in conjunction with sun damage).
